Little Gift #2...

Oh where, oh where have my slippers gone??  I have 3 pairs and I can't find them anywhere!!  I have looked in all the usual places they would be - under my bed, under my desk, near my stamp table but they are not to be found!  And unfortunately, no, they would never be in my closet - that would be way to easy and organized!  My feet are freezing!  My DS tends to take my slippers and I am thinking I may have to make my slippers unappealing.  Look at this little girlie gift and see if you know what I am going to do...

 

Is that the cutest little headband or what???  I am going to give it to my little niece - it will look extra special on her with her blonde hair and blue eyes.  I hope she will like it!!  This is another little gift that I made at Sue's house with a base from yes, you guessed it!  The Dollar Tree!   We used the Flower Fold die and the Table Setting die and the Big Shot to cut the felt, a Pretty in Pink Cordoroy brad and just a few little squirts of hot glue and Voila'!

So, I am thinkin', a few little felt flowers on my slippers should take care of the slipper thief - yes?  I already have the die and the felt....more to come in the slipper saga!

Little gift idea #1...

I used to think I would never, ever give someone a gift from the Dollar Tree but after a few projects from the fab Sue, I have changed my mind!  Look at this one...

I always need to remember that if it will sit still, I can stamp it, embellish it or otherwise take something ho-hum and make it really nifty.  I was thinking how cute this would be for a baby shower gift basket addition, a bon voyage gift or a neat little idea for someone headed to college or whatever.  I am keeping this one for me though (bad, Michelle, bad!!).  I am going to order some more from the website though and give them out.  I love how you see the other side of the DSP when you open the lid!  This is the Shades of Spring DSP in the Occasions Mini and some of the bee-U-ti-ful SU satin ribbon.  LOVE IT!!

Have you seen the Sweet Peas?

I admit when I first saw these in the Occasions Mini, I just sort of glossed over them but now that I have seen them in action, I have just got to get me some!!  Sue Berreth hosted an Occasions Mini/Sale-a-Bration swap at her stamping studio so I will be showing you all the nifty ideas I got there.  We had some fabulous designers at the event including Lisa Lin, Lisa McTaggert, Chrissy Mentzel and Sue herself to name a few.  I did not get who designed all of the cards so I can't always give appropriate credit but will do so when I know! 

You are probably wondering what do sweet peas have to do with crafting???  Aren't they are either a starchy vegetable or a nickname for my young child??  Nope - they are custom-colored felt pieces, many are handcrafted and can you believe you get over 50!! pieces for a mere $7.95???  WOW - you will be seeing these little guys soon in club and other venues very soon!  Take a look at this wonderful card:

I love this card!!!  In addition to the Sweet Peas, it uses the new extra large flower punch and the new Perfect Polka Dots embossing folders.  OK...just have to say it...can't stop it...isn't it just SWEET?! 

I used to call my son "sweetie peatie" when he was little.  He is 15 now and just a hair taller than me so how many shades of red do you think he will turn when he learns that I told the blog-o-sphere that I called him that?  He is such a neat guy and as I write this - off somewhere on his dirt bike, soon to return and probably covered with mud which will then get tracked into my house, which won't make me happy but I guess if he is nice and had fun, I might let him get away with it...
