How about a card for New Year’s??? Since I did not get all my Christmas cards sent out as planned, I think I may be sending these out instead. I figure that I have leeway for like at least the first two weeks in January for these cards – yes? I have said it before and I will say it again – I LOVE the single stamps that SU is doing in the big catty and the mini’s!!!! This is “A Brand New Year” from the Holiday Mini (hurry!!! Only available until Jan 4!!!!!!).
The technique is called Rainbow Embossing and is done using two or three colors of embossing powder. I learned this technique from the Workshop WOW DVD that SU demos can buy – I love the DVDS because they have so many wonderful ideas and you get to watch some of the top demos show you how to do it. They are so fun and entertaining to watchI Well, back to the card…I stamped the image in silver Encore ink and then used silver and gold embossing powder. If you do this technique, do the lighter color first (silver in this case) and I did it by doing little spots on one side and tipping toward that side to tap off the XS then little spots on the other side and tip that way to tap off the XS. I then sprinkled the gold EP all over and then embossed. I love the multi-tonal effect and even though this sounds complicated, it is very easy and only takes like a minute. It is hard to see in the picutre but this card is very shimmery!! I think my club girls loved this car (I hope!!)! Behind it is a piece of the Brushed Gold, Basic Black and the FABULOUS Bridesmaid DSP – have I told you I LOVE this DSP???? You will be seeing more of it in the future!
Well I watched "Julie and Julia" Christmas Eve with my Mom and I have to say that I was inspired. Those of you that know me, including my wonderful club gals, know that I love to cook so I absolutely HAD to watch this movie. Since I am already inspired to cook (stamping isn’t my only vice!) and love French food after several trips there, I was inspired to work on my blogging. My blog got a little dry and technical in the Christmas rush so I hope you will enjoy the little life escapades around here and I am going to work hard to dispel the rumor that everything I do turns out perfect. Trust me it doesn’t – I cut extras for my events because my projects do not always go as planned and experience says…well, stuff happens – things like children sneaking up on you while trying to concentrate, sneezing mid-stamp, too-tired-to-see accidents and the like.
SO! My early New Year’s resolution is to let all the imperfectness hang out and we will see where we land. I hope you enjoy!
Congratulations! I just wanted you to know that your project will appear on the Yahoo Group Late Night Stamper’s blog finds of the day for December 28. That is a darling card. It is also a great resolution-goal. I can't wait to see what you come up with this next year.
